Finding an appropriate place to spend the night can make all the difference. Fortunately Bear Valley has a wide variety of options from luxury homes, condos & hotels to affordable bunk spaces and numerous camping sites.

Bear Valley Lodging top

Bear Valley Lodge: Hotel-style accommodations located in the heart of the Village Commercial Center with 51 rooms, bar and restaurant. Bear Valley Lodge is 200 yards from BaseCamp. ($85 and up)

Bear Valley Vacation Rentals: Short and long-term vacation rentals featuring luxury homes, cabins and condominiums. ($85 & up).

Nordic Loft: MAS rents a 4 bedroom/2.5 bathroom condo above the Bear Valley Adventure Company ($25 & up)

Lake Alpine Lodge: offers both bedroom and studio cabins (with kitchens and housekeeping services) that sleep from 3 to 7 people. Tent Cabins are available for camping.  Located 5 miles east of Bear Valley.

Dorrington Hotel: 20 minutes west of Bear Valley this beautifully restored hotel has 5 rooms and a great restaurant.

Arnold: 25 minutes drive below Bear Valley is the small town of Dorrington and the Dorrington Inn. 10 minute further is the larger town of Arnold (population 4500, elevation 4000 feet) with a number lodging facilities.

Although there is no camping in the Bear Valley Village, there are numerous camping opportunities in the immediate surrounding area.  Both fee and non-fee areas exist and below is a list of the developed campsites in order of distance from Bear Valley.

  • Big Meadow: (6 miles west of Bear Valley) - advanced reservations available
  • Silvertip: (3 miles east of the Bear Valley Village, 1 mile west of Lake Alpine)
  • Lake Alpine: (4 miles east of Bear Valley)
  • Backpackers: (5 miles east of Bear Valley, near east shore of Lake Alpine)
  • Pine Marten: (5 miles east of Bear Valley, on east shore of Lake Alpine)
