MAS rock climbing classes are fun, paced and provide a supportive environment to learn, share and explore the exciting sport of outdoor rock climbing. MAS offers a wide variety of courses designed to meet the needs of both novice and experienced climbers. MAS rock climbing programs are divided into 4 categories:

  • Workshops: 1 day educational programs serving as building blocks to raise your climbing skills
  • Adventures: 1 day climbing programs to get you out on some of the best climbs of the area
  • Seminars: Multi-day educational programs combining workshops plus additional climbing time.
  • Camps: Multi-day adventures which allow participants to climb even more of the best climbs in the area.
  • Privates: All programs are available by private arrangement to match your schedule.
  • Groups: MAS enjoys creating custom programs for groups of all ages and abilities and extends discounts based on number of participants.

MAS offers rock climbing programs throughout Northern California and chooses sites based on access, quality and beauty. Currently MAS is running programs in Bear Valley, South Lake Tahoe (Lovers Leap, Phantom Spires & Sugarloaf), Calaveras Dome, Sawtooth Range (Matterhorn Peak & Incredible Hulk), Castle Rock State Park and Cragmont in the Berkeley Hills.

Rock climbing is a blend of strength, endurance, flexibility, and problem solving.  People are often surprised at the subtleties of physical movement and mental focus.  Often the thoughtful and creative climber is more successful than the taller or more powerful climber.

MAS specializes in high quality rock climbing programs with low student to instructor ratios.  We feel that smaller courses maximize your opportunity to learn, share and excel. MAS strives to make every program "top-notch", whether it be a long multi-pitch adventure at Lovers Leap or Boy Scout Merit Badge weekend in Bear Valley. We hope to see you out on the rock this summer!
